KETTLE MORAINE STATE FOREST
The Northern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest is the heartbeat of this area of the state, covering Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, and Washington counties. The Northern Unit has more than 132 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting and fishing, snowmobiling and cross-country ski trails can all be found within the 30,000-acre forest.
Throughout the year, the forest naturalists present a wide array of fun-filled educational programs held at the Ice Age Visitor Center, Mauthe Lake Recreation Area, Long Lake Recreation Area or at other spots within the forest. ICE AGE NATIONAL TRAIL
Hike along a segment of the Ice Age Trails, which snakes through the length of the forest for 31 miles.
EISENBAUN TRAIL
This 25-mile trail extends from the historic city of West Bend into the scenic countryside of eastern Wisconsin past the glacial landscape of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. Built on a former railroad corridor, the history of the trail is remembered in the title "Eisenbahn," a German word for railroad.
MAUTHE LAKE
Mauthe Lake Rec Area offers a swimming beach with picnic area, a pet picnic area, children`s playground, a reservable shelter building, a 2 mile self-guided nature trail around the lake, easy access to the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, a handicapped accessible fishing pier, boat launch, watercraft rentals, and bike trail access to Long Lake Rec Area.
PARNELL TOWER
The top of this 60-foot wooden observation tower is the highest point of elevation in the Kettle Moraine State Forest. It offers a panoramic view of the forest and surrounding farmland. On a clear day, you can see about 25 miles.
The Parnell Tower Trail begins from the parking lot on County Highway U. This 3.5-mile loop overlaps with a segment of the Ice Age National Trail. The tower is a favorite stop for hikers and backpackers along the trail

SHALOM WILDLIFE
One of our family's favorite places! Experience nature at its best on foot or rent a golf cart. Explore over three miles of gravel road throughout the zoo. You will see herds of bison, deer, elk, wild sheep, along with wolves, cougar, bear, zebra, camel and much more in large natural environments. Visit the learning centers and read the educational signage posted along the way. *New this year: Eat at the Grizzly Grill
